Call him an amateur, a novice, maverick or a purist – Ajay Choudhary, a police officer by profession has etched himself onto the canvas of the intricate world of abstract art. A self-taught man, Choudhary surprised all with his deft strokes on the canvas. A gifted abstractionist, he has showcased his creations at the top art galleries of the world and has won accolades from art connoisseurs.
Noted global painter M.F. Husain described Choudhary's paintings as "living art form". In fact, he went on to say “Ajay Choudhary, a man who held his baton of order and discipline outside, here in his painting, the brush is held with a firm grip to create his own discipline in colour and line.”
Choudhary’s imaginations and ideas for paintings are based on his experiences or observations from the daily life. He has held a solo show at Ahmedabad-ni-Gufa, 'Towards infinity' Open Studio and curated a solo show at The Loft (Mumbai). Additionally, he has shown at the Marvel Art Gallery, Ahmedabad, Amdavad Ni Gufa, Ahmedabad, Sarjan Art Gallery, Baroda, Open Palm Gallery, New Delhi and Archer Art Gallery, Ahmedabad.
