Amarnath Sharma

This young Baroda based painter born in 1978, Amarnath Sharma, originally hails from Bokaro, Bihar. He completed his BFA in Painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts, M.S. People, an integral part of the city, dominate the pictoral space. Each work is executed after much deliberation and thought towards subject matter as well as space definition.[Text Wrapping Break][Text Wrapping Break]Sharma uses solid forms and defined patterns to achieve a balance in his works. The sombre colours and visuals create an identity with which a city goer can easily apprehend. Each one being a comment on the society which we thrive on and on the life we choose to live.[Text Wrapping Break][Text Wrapping Break]Having also worked in graphics and clay, the artist prefers painting as his forte. Most of his works are done in acrylic colours. Sharma's passion for his art extends to another dimension: teaching children. And from the children he guides, comes the inspiration of a fresh new perspective of the world we live in.[Text Wrapping Break][Text Wrapping Break]Sharma has received several awards which include, the Budh Bihar Society in 1995 as well as the Nasaran Mohmadini Award for Painting in 2000. He has also participated in several group shows.[Text Wrapping Break][Text Wrapping Break]The artist lives and works in Baroda.
