Bhairavi Modi

Born in 1980, Bhairavi Modi completed her Diploma in Painting at the Sheth C N College of Fine Arts in Ahmedabad in 2002 before continuing her artistic education at the M S University of Baroda. Nostalgic about a childhood spent in a village, Modi strives to create scenes depicting the simplicity of village life. Interested in exploring innocence, Modi often portrays children, focusing on their eyes and the way their limbs are positioned. She employs a variety of textures, colours and perspectives in her work.

Modi’s work has been exhibited at several shows around the world and forms a part of numerous important collections, including those of Ebrahim Alkazi and Torrent Power Limited. The artist currently lives and works in Ahmedabad.

Her exhibit with us is titled Singers, an ink and watercolor on paper made in 2017.
