Kiyomi Talaulicar
Kiyomi Talaulicar was born in 1965. Kiyomi’s work attempts to reflect the concept that the ‘Legacy’ of the Art of India lies deeply rooted at its core, through and despite the constant change of its form, material, language and time.
A gold medallist from Sir J. J. School of Art, Mumbai, Kiyomi Talaulicar also obtained an MFA degree in Painting at East Carolina University, North Carolina, where she was awarded the Gravely Foundation Scholarship and the Liquitex Excellence in Art Award. In 2001-02, she was awarded the Jerome Foundation / Women's Art Registry of Minnesota Scholarship. She also completed a course on Continuing Studies (Printmaking & Drawing), Indiana University, Bloomington, USA.
Kiyomi has held several solo exhibitions and participated in several curated exhibitions in India and overseas, including exhibitions at The Greenville Museum of Art in North Carolina, The Phipps Center For The Arts in Wisconsin and the National Gallery of Modern Art in Mumbai. Her works have been a part of Art Dubai and of several editions of the India Art Fair, New Delhi.
Kiyomi’s exhibit is titled Legacy and is an acrylic on canvas made in the year 2021.
