Senior multi-disciplinary artist and curator Nayana Soparkar is known for innovative site-specific renderings. Nayana, born in 1956, is a sculptor and a self-taught artist. She lives in Ahmedabad. She mostly works in the paper clay medium.
Her exhibit with us is titled The Brief History of Time and is a Paper Mache. Her work maps the journey of The Times of India’s evolution since its inception. The paper puppets are holding mini-papers to project that TOI has always been the people’s paper and has kept evolving along with the society. The artist has mapped the evolution of the paper since late 18th century. The mini-papers trace the changing designs of the paper’s mastheads.
