Pulkit Prajapati
Born in Ahmedabad in 1986, Pulkit constantly tried to explore different subjects through application in his paintings. The subject matter is not as important to him as the application and material he use in his artwork. The materials he uses in his paintings are varied and mostly derived from experimenting with different textures, paints, metals etc. He has worked with a wide range of mediums using chrome plating, paint collage, mix media with enamel paint, transferred ink and real materials. He enjoys working on surfaces using different layers of paint such as enamel, acrylic and paper collage.
Pulkit has never followed a set sequence to create his work, just one little concept sparks and that takes him straight to the final creation. His work starts off very abstractly. To begin with, he himself doesn’t have any idea of who he is creating. His artworks depend on the surfaces which are made unconsciously. Whatever his surface reflects, accordingly he juxtaposed his compositions through real life experiences. The materials he uses in his work are varied and mostly derived from experimenting with different textures, paints, metals etc. His works to date have been created using paint collage, resin, mix media with enamel paint, transferred ink and real materials. He likes working on surfaces using different layers of paint such as enamel, acrylic and paper collage.
He has held a solo show at Jawahar Kala Kendra Jaipur, Rajasthan and participated in group shows like Gujarat State Lalit Kala Akademi, Hutheesing Visual Art Center, Ahmedabad, Bikaner Art Studio, Bikaner, Rajasthan and Bombay Art Society, Mumbai.
His exhibit with us is titled Kadvi Hawa – a transferred Enamel paint, cement, Acrylic and Transferred ink on canvas.
