Suneel Mamadapur
Suneel Mamadapur was born in Bijapur, Karnataka. He completed his Diploma in Fine Arts, from KEN School of Art Bangalore in 1997, and received a Post Diploma in Graphics Arts from Faculty of Fine Arts, M.S. University Baroda in 2000.
Suneel’s much applauded ‘The Desert of the Present’ show was held in December 2007 at Mumbai’s Museum Art Gallery, followed by a showing at Art Musings. He had held a solo show in 2002 at Gallery III in Glasgow, UK. The artist has received several grants and awards including Lalit Kala Academy’s 27th Annual Art exhibition Award in Bangalore, 50 years of Art Independence Day exhibition Award in Bijapur, All India Arts and Crafts Society (AIFACS) Award, Bombay Art Society’s 106th All India Annual Art Exhibition Award, K.K. Hebber Art Foundation Scholarship, 45th National Academy Award, Lalit Kala Academy, New Delhi, and Camlin Art Foundation 5th Southern Region Award. He has participated in several international exhibitions including Glasgow Art Fair UK (2002, 2004), international Bharath Bhavan Biennale in Bhopal, and Thi Pai International Art Biennial Japan (2002).
Suneel Mamadapur lives and works in Bangalore.
