Vikrant Bhise
Vikrant Bhise was born in Mumbai in India in 1984. Vikrant completed his G.D. Art from Raheja School of Art, Bandra and a diploma in art education from the renowned J.J. School of Art, Mumbai, in 2011.
After completing his degree, Vikrant delved even more into his studio practice, which involved human and his everyday life around him. Throughout his life, Vikrant has always been fascinated by the city and the people of his hometown. Struggles of the common man, racialism, communalism and the changes in the attitudes of the society are some of the themes that appear throughout his work. His works, his expressions on paper or canvas are like his daily diary. His day today depictions are an attempt to document an evolving society during a period of challenge and change, and inspire and influence generations to come.
Vikrant has received many state and national awards in India. All India Fine Arts & Crafts Society Award, New Delhi 2018, The Indian Academy of Fine Arts Silver Award, Amritsar 2018, Art Society of India Award, Mumbai 2017, The Maharashtra State Art Award 2016 are some of them. He has also been awarded with India’s most prestigious Lalit kala Academy, National Award in 2018 and also have received rare Bombay Art Societies “Gold Medal” in 2018.
Vikrant lives and works in Mumbai, India.
His exhibits with us are titled Impression II and Impression III, mixed media on paper both made in 2020.
